You can eAfrican Liberation Day On May 25th, 1963, Thirty-One (31) African leaders convened a summit meeting to find the Organization of African Unity (OAU). They renamed Africa Freedom Day "African Liberation Day" and changed its date to May 25th, and this day has helped raise social and political awareness in African communities worldwide. It has also been a source of information about the struggles for liberation and development. The day's purpose was to mark the liberation movement's progress annually and to symbolize the people of Africa's determination to free themselves from foreign domination and exploitation.
Julius E. Sprauve School Class of 2023
Older Americans Month 35th Legislature of the Virgin Islands Mock Session
For the first time in years, there were more young men graduating than young women from Ivanna Eudora Kean High School. Though this is a major accomplishment, it does not diminish the work of all the graduates of the class of 2023. Working through unparalleled adversity, these students are the epitome of hard work and determination. I also want to give a special congratulations to Eric Francis, who worked in my office during his final semester. A bright young man with a bright future, I wish him all the best in his future endeavors. Congratulations to the entire 2023 class!
The Bolques Bulletin (May-June 2023)
Each year on the second Sunday in May, we thank and celebrate our mothers — those who helped give us life and believe in us so much that we believe in ourselves. We celebrate the bonds of love and dedication she shares with her children and family, which is without bounds or conditions. We celebrate the women who raised us and showed us that no hurdle is too high and no dream is beyond our reach. As sons and daughters, we offer gratitude to the women who care for us, shape our values, and set us on a limitless future. Mothers’ you are the rocks of our families and a community foundation. In gratitude for their generous love, patient counsel, and lifelong support, we pay respect to the women who carry out the responsibility of motherhood with skill and grace. Let us also remember those mothers who, though no longer here with us, inspire us to this day.
